Into The Wild will transform over 1,000 sq m of ArtScience Museum’s public spaces into a virtual rainforest, with the help of the world’s first Tango-enabled smartphone, the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro. Visitors can act as rangers while encountering some of the wildlife that inhabits the rainforests of South-east Asia. They will even be able to plant a virtual tree with the use of the phone. Also, if you make a pledge of S$38, an actual tree will also be planted in Rimbang Baling, which is one of the last pristine rainforests in Sumatra.

Cyber Security Agency’s (CSA) carnival marks their first-ever public education campaign with a two-day carnival to educate visitors on how to integrate cyber security with our lives. Minister for Communications and Information and Minister-in-charge of Cybersecurity, Dr Yaacob Ibrahim will be gracing the event. Visitors can look forward to learning more about cybersecurity from experts and cyber champions. Popcorn and candy floss are available for visitors to munch on as well.

Talk about one last fling for the Singapore Sling: Head to Raffles Hotel’s Long Bar for its Slingology event before the venue closes its doors for restoration. The event will feature unique spins on the original Singapore Sling, such as Operation Dagger’s Singapore Sling Amuse Bouche, featuring pomegranate gin, compressed pineapple and pink peppercorns (starting at S$25++); and Manhattan Bar’s version, which features ingredients such as Fords Gin and Luxardo Sangue Morlacco Cherry Brandy (starting at S$23++). And yes, this is your one last chance (for awhile, at least) to toss peanut shells on the floor. Long Bar is scheduled to re-open in mid-2018.

Ground-up placemaking initiative Urban Ventures is returning to the streets of Keong Saik road and Jiak Chuan road on Feb 18 with a new addition. The event will feature three stages showcasing 21 local up-and-coming bands from the NOISE Music Mentorship Program 2016 such as singer-songwriter Mars, who fuses folk and soul and hip-hop music; and singer-songwriter Adia Tay, who will be performing her original tracks on set. DJs Brandon P and Oliver Osborne will be spinning. Artworks by local artist SKLO and street artist Samantha Lo, aka the Sticker Lady, will be on show.
